Moving Beyond Space

UWCSEA Dover Campus, Singapore

“Kumari believes that each completed works stimulates the next one, and that while they may take different routes at different moments, her pieces are connected by common themes that need to be developed in different ways. In this way, the idea of time, and time passing, is embodied in her work.”

Comprising more than 4,000 kg of saga seeds collected from across Southeast Asia, Anahata site specific installation with seeds and sounds – A combination of history, architecture and location are used as a metaphor for a centre.

Anahata is a Sanskrit term which means “un-struck” or “unhurt” and rests at the centre of the fourth chakra which is at the core of our spirit. It is here that we open to connect with harmony and peace simultaneously with the material and metaphysical worlds.

The seeds are potentialities of expressions. Every seed tells a personal story – Beneath every story of brokenness or pain, wholeness, bondless love and a wellspring of compassion reside. In the same note, I hope the endless energy from thousands of seeds will be transmitted to the audience.
