Revisiting – An installation
This installation “Revisiting Nature” is a take on the ordinary. It embarks on a journey of what we often take for granted. It celebrates the ‘ordinary and mundane’ and transforming them into characters coined as Song & Dance. The introduction of the floating Angsana Seeds from Seeds & Pods series introduces another dimension to this installation.
The Seeds & Pods series symbolises new life and untapped energies that arouse and stimulate a multitude of sensations in the viewer. It generates the creation of forms in the Song & Dance series. The seed speaks about pure energy within. It represents possibility, mobility, velocity, new life and regeneration.
Song & Dance series, premiered at the Shanghai Art Fair 2011, is a theatrical showcase of chillies, exudes each of their individual personalities and emotions through various movements and disciplines. Their eccentricities are expressed through the engagement of their shapes, forms, textures and colours. Whimsical and yet elegant, they capture an honest expression of celebration and joy.
